Reg Hack!

intelppm.sys could be the issue, turn it off with reged32 via safe boot.

The solution is simple, open regedt32 go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Intelppm
Change the ‘Start’ value to ’4′
Reboot
Done

Note: Ubuntu Virtualbox Error Message On Guest Start?

This is a conflict with KVM!

Each time you log on to Ubuntu run this command:
sudo stop qemu-kvm

Note: Ubuntu Lucid Virtualbox USB Devices Greyed Out

This is a permissions issue!

System > Administration > Users and Groups >

Select your UID… e.g “silverwave”

Click Button “Manage Groups”
Select “vboxusers” click Button “Properties”.
Tick the box next to your UID.

IMPORTANT!

Doesn’t work until you reboot.

Note if you don’t see any USB Devices create a blank filter for you USB’s via settings.
